SLIMZtech · High-Density Interlock

The fabric that does a bra's job.

A dense, double-faced knit we spent two years developing. The support is knitted into it — so nothing has to squeeze, wire or strap you in.

Inside the mills

Three specialist mills. Two years of development.

This isn't a basic knit with a new label. Our yarn is spun to a blend we developed, dyed before it's ever knitted, and knitted in a separate mill into High-Density Interlock. Here's what that looks like.

  1. The yarn

Spun and twisted to our own blend — 98% polyamide, 2% elastane — for grip that holds and stretch that moves.

  2. The dye

The yarn is dyed before it's knitted, so the color is part of the fabric and stays through the wash.

  3. The knit

Knitted dense and double-faced into High-Density Interlock — the structure that does a bra's job.

  4. The check

The fabric and every piece cut from it is inspected by hand before it becomes a SLIMZ top.

SLIMZ vs the alternatives

Why the knit matters

Patterns developed through fittings on a wide range of body types, from XXS to XXL — in a fabric that holds you on its own. Here's how that compares with what you'd otherwise wear.

What you want SLIMZ Bra + a top Shapewear
Lifts and supports, no bra Needs the bra Sometimes
One layer that looks finished Two layers Needs a top over it
Nothing digs or squeezes Straps and wires Built to compress
Comfortable all day Sometimes Rarely

What the fabric does

Engineered, not compressed.

Everything a SLIMZ top does comes from the knit itself. Here's what that means when you wear it.

  • Problem: Soft fabrics with no structure

With SLIMZ: Support on its own. The density of the knit gives lift and hold through DD+, with no bra underneath.

  • Problem: Knits that stretch out and bag by noon

With SLIMZ: Keeps its shape. The interlock holds its line wear after wear. It doesn't roll at the hem or dig at the straps.

  • Problem: Shapewear that traps heat

With SLIMZ: Breathable. Built to breathe rather than trap heat. It is a substantial fabric, so you'll notice it more in high summer than under a jacket.

  • Problem: Colors that fade in the wash

With SLIMZ: Color that stays. Dyed at the yarn stage, before knitting, so the color is part of the fabric.

  • Problem: Thin tops you can see through

With SLIMZ: Opaque in every color. It doesn't hide texture, which is why some customers add our Nipple Covers.

  • Problem: Tight-and-itchy compression

With SLIMZ: Soft on the skin. Soft against the body, so it holds you without feeling like shapewear.

Care

Look after it and it looks after you

Dense knits last for years when they're treated gently.

  • Hand wash, cold Cold water and a mild detergent. Don't wring or twist it.
  • Dry flat, in the shade Lay it flat out of direct sun. The knit keeps its own shape.
  • No dryer, bleach or iron And no dry cleaning. The knit keeps its own shape; harsh treatment is what breaks it.
  • Wash it less often It lasts longer and saves water: a single wash uses around 18 gallons.

Fabric questions

Everything about the fabric

What is High-Density Interlock?

It's the knit behind every SLIMZ top: a dense, double-faced interlock made from yarn spun to our own blend. The density is what gives the fabric its structure, so it can support you without cups, wires or compression.

Will it make me sweat?

It's designed to breathe rather than trap heat, and many customers wear it all day in every season. It is a substantial fabric, so you'll feel it more in high summer than under a jacket.

Does it stretch out over time?

No. The knit is built to keep its shape and hold wear after wear. Washing it by hand and drying it flat keeps it that way.

Is it see-through?

No, it's opaque in every color. It doesn't hide texture, though, which is why some customers wear it with Nipple Covers.

Is it OK for sensitive skin?

Everyone's skin is different, but the fabric is soft against the body and most customers with sensitive skin find it comfortable. Try it on at home first: unworn, with the tags on, it can be returned or exchanged within 30 days.

Why is the first wear snug?

That's the density doing its job. Step into it, bring it up to your waist, then put your arms through — after a wear or two it goes on easily.
